Made possible by a partnership between the American Composers Forum, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, and the Minnesota Boychoir, Healing and Hope Through Song is designed to help patients and their families express their feelings and give voice to their stories through poetry and music. Through working in a residency setting at Children's Hospital, the poet and composer will collaborate to create 4 new choral works which will be premiered by the Minnesota Boychoir in Spring 2011.

Each year, the McKnight Visiting Composer Program underwrites a Minnesota residency of at least eight weeks for two out-of-state composers. While in residence, the visiting artist collaborates on a project with a Minnesota performing, presenting, and/or community organization.
