COMPOSERS DATEBOOK
Composers Datebook
is a concise, nationally distributed radio program designed to inform,
engage, and entertain listeners of both public and commercial classical
music stations. By providing information about composers of the past
and present, Composers Datebook connects historical with present
day music-making and increases awareness of composers working today.
Each two-minute program
links significant or intriguing musical events involving composers of
the past and present with appropriate and accessible music. Every month,
Composers Datebook is provided to radio stations free of charge. It
is currently carried by more than 200 stations, and it can also be heard
on the Web at www.ComposersDatebook.org.
Composers
Datebook has received a Deems Taylor Award in Broadcasting from the
American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). It is
a co-production of the Forum and Minnesota Public Radio (MPR).
Composers Datebook is
funded by: the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The Virgil Thomson
Foundation, Aaron Copland Fund for Music, ASCAP, and The James Irvine
