LOS ANGELES CHAPTER: About Founded:
May 2000 The chapter is an active resource for Los Angeles-area new-music artists: disseminating information and developing new opportunities for creative work with the broader public as well as with other artists. Although Web sites are a focus of all Forum chapters, in Los Angeles, with its geographical spread and vast cultural diversity, the Chapter's web page plays a greater role than elsewhere in offering a readily accessible meeting place and starting point for explorations, collaborations and artistic growth. The acf/LA Website (www.composers.la) provides up-to-date information about the Chapter, its activities and programs, as well as New Music LA -- an online monthly calendar of new music events in the Los Angeles area -- and offers links to other relevant web sites in order to serve as a central location for information sources, opportunities for on-line membership registration, a database for information about chapter members and applications to chapter programs, including subito. Launched in Spring 2001, subito is a quick, uncomplicated granting program that provides grants to composers and performers who need this boost to take the next step in their new-music careers. Find
out more about local programs and activities at www.composers.la. The Los
Angeles Chapter is funded in part through the generous support of:
