BOSTON CHAPTER: About Founded: April 1995 As one of the Forum's first chapters, the Boston Chapter has become a vital and visible part of greater Boston's cultural life. Through the Community Partners Program, the chapter has sponsored more than 45 community-based composer residency projects in collaboration with more than 60 partner organizations including schools, professional music organizations, community centers, cultural institutions, social service organizations, and religious congregations. These residencies have allowed more than 1,600 people of all ages to participate directly in the creation and performance of more than 65 new musical works. In turn, these works have reached audiences exceeding 18,000 people. As word of these successful projects spreads, more and more community-based organizations are turning to the chapter as a valuable and unique partner in their cultural, educational and artistic planning.
