ABOUT THE CHAPTERS The Forum established its first two chapters in New York and the Boston area in 1995. Since then, chapters have been founded in Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Minneapolis/St. Paul, San Francisco Bay Area, Greater Minnesota, and Washington, D.C. The Forum's national board of directors retains members from all chapter areas, allowing the organization to better serve those communities. This growth reflects the Forum's efforts to renew connections between composers and the community at large. Among the chapters' primary activities are their Community Partners projects, which place composers in residencies with community, cultural, and educational organizations. Through the Community Partners Program, the Forum's chapters have sponsored more than 300 residencies, commissions, and performances, engaging scores of educational, cultural, and social institutions in the creation and presentation of new music. Chapters also support the development of composers' careers through a wide variety of workshops, readings, meetings, and other events. Director
