Susan Asbjornson Ziegler is now working on her 3 and 4th operas, and premiers her 2nd opera, RED WHITE & BLUE on October 6, 2007

Susan Asbjornson is described by Classical Singer Magazine as a soprano whose "rich musical and theatrical background -- modeling, television, plays, commercials, film, musical theatre and opera -- has made her one of the most exciting performers on stage in opera today." Ms. Asbjornson earned a Masters Degree in Music and her considerable talents have taken her around the globe where she has performed in the Czech-Republic, Austria, Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, and France, and throughout the United States. Favorite past roles include Frasquita and Micaela in Carmen, First Lady in The Magic Flute, Fiordiligi in Cosi Fan Tutte.

A life long musican, Susan Asbjornson Ziegler wrote, composed, and produced her first opera, CINDY LOU, an opera about true love (animal rescue) in 2004, raising funds for animal rescue through her opera company, Contemporary Opera Los Angeles (ContemporaryOpera.com) The goal of COLA is to introduce opera to people who have never heard it, to dispel the reputation of stuffiness and pretension which has alienated many. CINDY LOU is an eclectic mix of true opera, pop, and R&B -the Poodle does a funny blues number!

She premiers her second opera, RED WHITE & BLUE on October 6, 2007 at the Hermosa Beach Playhouse Theater to raise funds for children?s education. Songs include: The Gettysburg Address, State Capitols in alphabetical order, The Preamble to the Constitution, The New Colossus, The Pledge of Allegiance. World Capitols in Alphabetical order, George Washington's Farewell Address, Presidents of the US in chronological order, etc. RED WHITE & BLUE is a "play within a play" or rather "an opera within an opera" and includes a Rock and Roll singer who is a very funny contrast amongst the sea of operatic sopranos.

Susan wrote THE FUNNY SEXY SECRET WORLD OF A DIVA! for COLA's first production in 2003 which is a very unique opera cabaret that Susan performs with pianist and spokesman Bill Protzmann (BillProtzmann.com) in which she sings 11 famous arias, all in English, with funny costume and wig changes. Bill and Susan have toured with DIVA! in Hawaii, Colorado, Idyllwild, Laguna, Hermosa Beach, and Hollywood to raving reviews.

In addition, Ms. Asbjornson-Ziegler has produced a compilation Opera CD for Rhino Records, has dubbed other singers' voices -who shall remain nameless - in opera videos, is a sought after singer for demo CDs as well as film soundtracks. Ms. Asbjornson is also an opera set design consultant for the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, gives Master Classes to choirs in local schools and colleges plus she volunteers to teach music in schools that do not have any music program through her outreach program with COLA.
