Community Partners - San Francisco Bay Area

Community Partners engages communities and supports composers' careers through community residencies and collaborative projects involving the creation of new music.

The Community Partners program is now closed for 2007.

Northern California Composers Commissioning Program

The American Composers Forum, San Francisco Bay Area Chapter, offers a Northern California Composers Commissioning Program (NCCCP). Performers (individuals or ensembles) and presenters are invited to apply for grants from $5000 to $7500 on behalf of themselves and composers with whom they wish to collaborate. Awards will be shared, as described below, between applicants and composers. Quick turnaround, career advancement grants for composers and new music performers/ensembles in California. Current application deadlines are: November 1, 2008; February 15, 2009; and June 1, 2009

Composer in the Schools

The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of American Composers Forum seeks a qualified Northern Californian composer to teach high school students in its Composer in the Schools (CITS) after-school program. Classes will held for 2 hours one day each week at Lowell High School in San Franciscoand begin in mid- to late October, 2006.
