Welcome to the American Composers Forum of Los Angeles (ACF-LA) !

The Mission of ACF-LA is to support the artistic and professional growth of composers and to expand the markets for new music through audience building, advocacy, community educational programs, visibility, workshops, composer residencies, and grants for new music projects.

Currently ACF-LA uses a Yahoo groups message board to post concert announcements by members as well as other important information. Join us here to submit and receive announcements about new music in the Los Angeles.

The American Composers Forum has partnered with the Amateur Chamber Music Players (ACMP) to create an online resource where chamber music lovers can find access to contemporary chamber music--with features tailored specifically to the needs of amateur players.

All in Good Measure (aka Measure For Measure), a weekly series of online audio conversations, takes a fresh look at the world of making new music for a new world. 2010 ASCAP EXPO in Los Angeles
(November 1, 2009)

ASCAP invites registrants to their "I Create Music ASCAP Expo" Conference in Los Angeles, April 22-24, 2010, at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel. Master classes, songwriting and composing workshops, publisher and business panels, One-on-One sessions, DIY career building workshops, showcases and performances, song feedback panels, state-of-the-art technology demos as well as leading music industry exhibitors. Please note: the lowest Early Bird pricing for the 2010 ASCAP "I Create Music" EXPO will expire on November 30. Those who wish to attend the conference should book early to take advantage of the lowest rates.

1st Annual Composition Competition
(June 1, 2009)

ACF-LA announces a call for unpublished chamber scores  for any combination of flute, clarinet, oboe, violin, viola, cello, bass, percussion from all ACF member composers in two categories (over and under age 18) for their 1st Annual Composition Competition and performance organized by ACF/LA in conjunction with Ensemble Green and the Ruskin Art Club.  Selected composers will have the opportunity to attend rehearsals, a professional performance of their work in the Fall of 2009 and receive an archival recording of the performance.

2009 Essentially Choral composers selected

Los Angeles composer Roger Matthew Brown and six others selected for Essentially Choral reading sessions with Philip Brunelle's VocalEssence Ensemble Singers in Minneapolis.
